- Any number raised to the zero power equals 1
- Any number raised to the first power equals itself
- The number of zeros is proportional to the value of the power for 10 raised to any power, for example: ( 103 = 1000 ) and ( 10-3 = 0.003 )
Tenths ⇢ 1/10 ⇢ 10-1 = 0.1
Hundredths ⇢ 1/100 ⇢ 1/102 ⇢ 10-2 = 0.01
Thousandths ⇢ 1/1000 ⇢ 1/103 ⇢ 10-3 = 0.001
