First-Order Approximation
For any function f(x), we say for small values of x that:
f(x) ≈ f(0) + f '(0)x
where f '(0) is the first derivative of f(x) evaluated at zero, or:
df(x) / dx |x=0
(the derivative of x evaluated at 0)
